The Rufous-tailed Hummingbird (Amazilia tzacatl) is a hummingbird in the subfamily Trochilinae (mountain gems, bees and emeralds), tribe Trochilini (emeralds). It weighs about 4.8 g and its bill is 22.1 mm long. It lives in 11 countries, including Costa Rica, Colombia, Belize, Panama and Ecuador. Its IUCN Red List status is Least concern, with a decreasing population.
