The Rufous Hummingbird (Selasphorus rufus) is a hummingbird in the subfamily Trochilinae (mountain gems, bees and emeralds), tribe Mellisugini (bees). It weighs about 3.5 g and its bill is 20.4 mm long. It lives in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Its IUCN Red List status is Near threatened, with a decreasing population.
