The Purple-backed Sunbeam (Aglaeactis aliciae) is a hummingbird in the subfamily Lesbiinae (coquettes and brilliants), tribe Heliantheini (brilliants). It weighs about 7.0 g and its bill is 20.3 mm long. It is found only in Peru. Its IUCN Red List status is Vulnerable, with a decreasing population.
