The Blue-tailed Hummingbird (Saucerottia cyanura) is a hummingbird in the subfamily Trochilinae (mountain gems, bees and emeralds), tribe Trochilini (emeralds). It weighs about 3.9 g and its bill is 21.9 mm long. It lives in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador and Costa Rica. Its IUCN Red List status is Least concern, with a decreasing population.
