The Black-crested Coquette (Lophornis helenae) is a hummingbird in the subfamily Lesbiinae (coquettes and brilliants), tribe Lesbiini (coquettes). It weighs about 2.6 g and its bill is 14.4 mm long. It lives in Costa Rica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala and Belize. Its IUCN Red List status is Least concern, with a decreasing population.
