The Black-breasted Puffleg (Eriocnemis nigrivestis) is a hummingbird in the subfamily Lesbiinae (coquettes and brilliants), tribe Heliantheini (brilliants). It weighs about 4.5 g and its bill is 19.3 mm long. It is found only in Ecuador. Its IUCN Red List status is Endangered, with a decreasing population.
